They are games that involve fantasy and creativity, games that require little or moderate physical activity. Through your participation in this workshop you will learn how to motivate people who are otherwise apathetic and reluctant to exercise to engage in safe and gentle physical exercise under cover of games. Exercise is work but playing is fun. People who play and enjoy their play become animated and are inspired to engage physically more than they would otherwise. Laughter Games are practical tools you can use to help clients/patients diffuse stress and you can adapt these games to the specific abilities and mood of a given group to maximize their benefits. You will acquire a repertoire of games that help people become more open to each other, less guaded and more spontaneious, more willing to engage and participate, more secure psychologically and socially. You will have deep fun, and be able to write it off, too. |

Those familiar with Gestalt have missed having a community where they can share their deepest selves and those new to Gestalt are just discovering that this kind of contact is possible. This class will focus on Gestalt's timeless understandings and existential practices as well as the therapy of it all. Amazingly, some indigenous teachings as well as those of Buddhism and Eckhart Tolle's work have a lot in common with themes we will explore. CYNDY SHELDON, who studied with Gestalt founder Fritz Perls MD, PhD and his colleague James Simkin, PhD, was one of the organizers of the original Gestalt Institute of San Francisco, where she taught for 25 years. In addition she taught for many years in Europe as well as in Australia and Canada. Inspired to follow her bliss in search of a more spiritual foundation, she moved to Sedona AZ and soon after worked on the Navajo Reservation for 10 years. Now in her 75th year she is integrating these approaches with Gestalt’s timeless understandings and is eager to share them with all who are curious and interested.
