Dear Members and Friends of AHP,
AHP is not just for psychologists and psychotherapists. We are educators, doctors, nurses, human service workers, community activists, organizational development professionals, students, writers, musicians, artists, health and social workers, counselors, scientists, architects, business people, politicians, spiritual leaders, home makers, trades people, anyone who shares humanistic values and wants to make a difference.
It is time for renewal and rebirth as we re-create ourselves to serve our membership and our world as a new paradigm unfolds. We are currently working on four big ventures and need your help both energetically and financially.
As you know, AHP is a non-profit organization that depends upon you to fund our work. Originally created by Abraham Maslow, Carl Rogers, Charlotte Buhler, Rollo May, Virginia Satir and others in 1962, we continue the essence of their work today as we evolve both individually and collectively into a new paradigm of consciousness in 2008.
This emphasis on consciousness, human dignity, and the capacity to direct our own destiny has come to be known as Humanistic Psychology!
1. A series of workshops/trainings for multicultural/ multidisciplinary studies that we hope to evolve into a much larger and much needed series that can be presented around the country. We think there is a great need for much deeper understanding of diversity and cultural issues, now perhaps more than ever before.
2. Online and teleclasses to better serve our members, both those who wish to present and those who need their CECs.
3. One day seminars that will be offered across the country offering CEC's
4. Financial support for existing programs, including our website and the people who provide us with services that allow us to continue.
For several years we have been scanning ALL of the old AHP magazines and are now beginning to put them up on our website as a resource for students and others in developing countries that do not have local resources available to them.
Many hours and technological tools are going into making it possible for AHP's wisdom and history to be online for the world to share.
Sincerely,
Cuf Ferguson, President,
and the Board of AHP
