AHP Web Sights on Collective Resonance

I’m proud to mention that this is the 20th Websights column I’ve written for AHP, published in the AHP Perspective magazine and online at ahpweb.org. It’s been a marvelous learning experience for me, and I look forward to many more columns. The focus of this issue is collective resonance in group work. However, before going to those reviews I’d like to emphasize the importance of the Memberlinks. When I began writing this column, it was a half page long and had no theme! To celebrate this 20th edition, I’d like to make a special request to members and others to take the time to send requests for links to bwochholz@mac.com. These link exchanges, etc., promote and invite new traffic to our members’ web sites. AHP is also interested in honoring link requests/exchanges for organizations (see examples below in the reviewed sites) as well as web site suggestions for reviews of sites of interest to AHP members. Thank you.

The term resonance is described in a variety of contexts on the Fusion Anomaly site resonance, describing its use in a wide range of the sciences, music, and acoustics. Resonance is a powerful analogy for understanding how various types of energies and spaces operate, bringing different systems into sympathy, and amplifying their power.

Collective resonance an important part of the CEO Refresher site , as borrowed from the work of Renee Levi, and cites the need for genuine dialogue other than the resultsbased, outcome-oriented conversations so prevalent in our modern world. An important but largely unappreciated quality in true dialogue is the energy level of the parties as a whole. When new ideas are being born and the speaking is spontaneous, the energy is usually high and the resonance can be quite palpable.

John Renesch’s primary site complements this information with an excellent set of links including those relating to collective resonance, from a business perspective.

In a recent interview by Renee Levi of AHP member natalie Rogers, on the presence of Collective Resonance in Group Process, collective resonance is used to describe parts of the group processes within Roger’s expressive arts therapy, which was well described in two issues of the AHP Perspective last year. Group Magic: An Inquiry into Experiences of Collective Resonance currently hosts Renee’s dissertation on this important subject (see Perspective Cover Story).

The site is part of the larger Collective Wisdom Initiative site which is well complemented by the Global Resonance Network whose mission and purpose include fostering the growth and expansion of global resonance, by developing and applying resonance technologies that enhance the experience of human connection. These two sites explore the broad range of contexts in which people report experiencing this phenomenon and the many levels of connection that operate in them, including energetic, physical, intuitive, emotional, and spiritual as well as intellectual. AHP MEMBERS’ LINKS

Another important change I’ve experienced at AHP is a distinct shift toward a more international perspective. This is a clear emphasis of the AHP Board. Many of the following Memberlinks reflect these emphases.

At the United States Chapter of the International Society for the Psychological Treatments of Schizophrenia and Psychosis site, in the article “Negative Entropy” (from Italy), it is suggested that the prognosis of schizophrenia is more favorable in developing countries than in industrialized ones. A Wikiverse gestalt-therapy link exchange with ahpweb relates to gestalt psychology that is part of a volunteer based web encyclopedia.

Canada-based Triune Arts has produced a wide variety of award-winning educational programs on a variety of subjects, which are available in multimedia and video. The site for Mommy- Muse , a new AHP professional member, provides a useful gateway to services that include on-line counseling.

Distance education and telecourses are important new ways for AHP to develop services to its members. AHP is especially interested in hearing from members about their interests in courses, as well as opportunities to collaborate with other efforts.

Returning member Carla Woody’s Kenosis site invites one to participate in a journey to create a better world to benefit all (see article in the online Perspective). The Sedona Method sites www.sedonamethod.com and www.sedona.com provide wonderful contributions to the field of self-acceptance and transformation. This is an accessible, Western form of Buddhist teachings that can free our hearts and minds from our self-made limitations and the old stories we tell ourselves. The Darwin Project is an organization that requested reciprocal links to ahpweb.org and which has set out to reverse the damage done to our species and the planet by the pseudoscientific Darwinian “survival of the fittest, selfish genes” mindset.

Psychotherapy Networker magazine provides a variety of continuing education opportunities with an emphasis on connecting colleagues from around the world. AHP’s new professional member Michael Millet’s London-based site is international in scope. Elevated Therapy homepages.which. net/~michael.millett/ emphasizes the need to look at the whole person, including the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and lifestyle values. The following sites are hosted in Thailand. Mark Stephen’s transformational Thinking site is updated with a beautifully arranged set of links and content on many subjects. The Integrated Medical Clinic & Ayurveda School’s combines traditional, Wes-tern, and alternative medicine in a holistic manner.

The collective resonance of AHP’s relationship with the Association for Transpersonal Psychology (ATP) has also increased in the time since I “adopted” this column from AHP’s former Executive Director Georgia Berland. (The ATP Newsletter appears seminanually in this magazine). ATP is a membership-supported international coordinating organization for scientific, social, and clinical transperson-al work that serves the world community, with links to on-line education and to Japan’s JATP and the European Union’s EUROTAS.

AHP Members are encouraged to submit their web addresses to WebSights columnist Bruce Wochholz at bwochholz@mac.com for review. Sites should be primarily educational or informational, and relate to AHP’s interests, but member sites may emphasize services, books, workshops, tapes, or other commercial offerings.
